Emmy nominations announced!!
Tribute to The King of Pop: Michael Jackson
The eighth child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene along with his elder brothers
Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon as a member of the Jackson 5 in 1964, and began his solo career in 1971. In the early 1980s, Jackson became a dominant figure in
popular music. The music videos for his songs, including those of "Beat It", "Billie Jean", and "Thriller", were credited with breaking down racial barriers and with transforming the medium into an art form and promotional tool. The popularity of these videos helped to bring the then-relatively-new television channel MTV to fame. With videos such as "Black or White" and "Scream", he continued to innovate the medium throughout the 1990s, as well as forging a reputation as a touring solo artist. Through stage and video performances, Jackson popularized a number of complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the
moonwalk, to which he gave the name. His distinctive sound and style has influenced numerous artists of various music genres.
Jackson's 1982 album Thriller is the best-selling album of all time. His other albums, including Off the Wall (1979),
Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991), and HIStory (1995), also rank among the world's best-selling albums. Jackson is one of the few artists to have been inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. He was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Dance Hall of Fame as the first and only dancer from pop and rock music. His other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records, 13 Grammy Awards, the Grammy Legend Award, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, 26
American Music Awards—more than any other artist—including the "Artist of the Century" and "Artist of the 1980s", 13 number-one singles in the United States during his solo career,—more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era—and estimated sales of over 400 million records worldwide.[Note 1] Jackson has won
hundreds of awards, making him the most awarded recording artist in the history of popular music. He became the first artist in history to have a top ten single in the Billboard Hot 100 in five different decades when "Love Never Felt So Good" reached number nine on May 21, 2014. Jackson traveled the world attending events honoring his humanitarianism, and, in 2000, the Guinness World Records recognized him for supporting 39 charities, more than any other entertainer.
Aspects of Michael Jackson's personal life, including his changing appearance, personal relationships, and behavior, generated controversy. In the mid-1990s, he was accused of child sexual abuse, but the civil case was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount and no formal charges were brought. In 2005, he was tried and acquitted of further child sexual abuse allegations and several other charges after the jury found him not guilty on all counts. While preparing for his comeback concert series titled This Is It, Jackson died of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication on June 25, 2009, after suffering from cardiac arrest. The Los Angeles County Coroner ruled his death a homicide, and his personal physician Conrad Murray was convicted of
involuntary manslaughter. Jackson's death triggered a global outpouring of grief and a live broadcast of his
public memorial service was viewed around the world.

"I want to thank Brendan Rodgers for giving me a chance and an opportunity in the first team, and giving me a real chance to cement a place in the first team and show the world my talents.

Social Rejection
The experience of rejection can be subjective to the recipient and it is sometimes percieved when it is not there due to prolonged and consistent rejection. Truth is we humans have a need to associate and relate with one another and while we nurture that need and bask in the moment of want we are so overwhelmed that we forget that the factor "choice" is ingredient in every interaction or association because what we unconsciously do When we try to associate is we literally hand out a proposal that says I am going to be worth your while or you remind me of myself I think we will both enjoy our company. So in the process of trying to be funny, trying to sell, we lose sight of the what if's and what is next if my "proposal" is refused do we then see ourselves as not good enough? Or socially retarded? Do we then allow ourselves to become a case study where people make money off us and make theories and term us this and that? Do we then remain lonely? Have low self esteem? Be aggressive? Be depressed? Be immature? Have an impulsive behaviour? It is high time we started being confident about ourselves, it is high time we evolved, why should you be depressed when someone does not recognize your value? For goodness sake who is at a loss? Do not worry they will come around they always do, and if they don't, it is simply good riddance to bad rubbish. The truth is each and every one of us is awesome in our own little way and we deserve someone who will appreciate and value that awesomeness. So if we get rejected in the process of finding that person do not give up and become depressed, life is too short to let some blind persons decide how you live. So be cool with which you are irrespective of what you are, people will always have their opinion about you, well, that is why they call it an opinion, it does not count unless you want it to. The honest truth is rejection is inevitable even the most social people in the world also suffer rejection once in a while, so do not ever take it personal because it is never personal it is just life!!!

The Woman Part 2
You might say women voice out their frustrations in an abusive marriage but it would interest you to know that most women still keep it to themselves and hide under the umbrella of "their children " to remain in the relationship or marriage.
Some women are forced not to work because "in nigeria women are supposedly not allowed to be ambitious"
Women need to be empowered. I'm sure you've heard this over and over again
Please don't get tired of hearing this .
We need a better country and to move forward the "females " need to be given almost equal if not equal rights as the men.
Train a woman and you've trained a nation but train a man and you've trained an individual.
It's therefore not surprising when Hillary Clinton said in an interview with Mo Abudu ""If your country(Nigeria) does not empower women, you cannot grow beyond a certain point"
It's however important to note that being feminist does not give a free ticket to women to disrespect their husbands or fail in marital and family duties.
Let's make a change!

Fashion Tips & Tricks for the weekend.

- PhotoWe all put on makeup (at least some of the time), but is your technique yielding the best possible results? Here, Kimberly Soane, the director of artistry at Bobbi Brown, offers up some simple pointers to make sure we're using everything from concealer to bronzer
Concealer – "Put concealer on the inside corners of your brow bone where it’s dark. You don’t need concealer as much under the eye as you do in this area. I promise it'll make a huge difference in pictures. You don’t want to wash the face out so use concealer sparingly, like around the corners of the nose and mouth. If you have a natural rosy flush, use concealer right up against your flush and don’t cover it up. Pat concealer on instead of rubbing it back and forth. You can use your finger or a sponge, but I prefer a brush. I find that washing brushes are much easier than sponges.

Highlighter - "I stick to cream highlighters because they become more of the skin while powders sit on the skin (of course on lids, I'll use powders because cream creases there). Think about where the sun hits: The tops of cheekbones, above the top of the brow, down the nose, on top of your cupid's bow, and on your chin. If you are wearing a dress with bare shoulders and neck – put a bit of highlighter on your clavicle and shoulders. If your hair is pulled back, use some on the tops of your ears. Glide the highlighter on, then tap around the edges."
Blush – "I’m a fan of taupe for the entire face, but I use color sparingly. Taupe works with most people. But, for darker skin, I’ll use a taupe with more sheen (darker skin is naturally more “sheen-y”) otherwise, stick with matte or satin blush. I use taupe instead of bronzer because I haven’t found one that doesn’t look orange. And if they’re not orange then they’re more taupe anyway, so I just keep using this taupe blush that has been working for me for years. Finish with a light pink blush between the taupe and highlighter on the apple of the cheeks."
Lips – "When you know you're going to be photographed, you want to make sure your lips are perfect. First, brush lips with a little bit of Aquaphor and a baby toothbrush. Then use a lip concealer (or you can use the one that you use on your skin). Always smile when you put the concealer on your lips to get the product into the wrinkles. If you don’t want to fully wash the color out of your lips, just use a beige lip gloss and you’ve effectively taken out a step."

Serena Slam
Serena Williams slammed her way to a sixth Wimbledon singles title Saturday morning, completing her second so-called "Serena Slam" and positioning herself for tennis history.
The 33-year-old American defeated Garbine Muguruza of Spain, 6-4, 6-4, to win her fourth consecutive Grand Slam tournament, beginning with last year's U.S. Open and including this year's Australian and French open titles. She accomplished a similar sweep in 2002-2003.
The Wimbledon win is also her 21st grand slam tittle.
She is now poised to equal some of the greatest marks in tennis six weeks from now at the U.S. Open in New York:
- A calendar-year sweep of the major tournaments has only been accomplished three times and not since Steffi Graf did it in 1988.
- Williams can also match Graf's Open-era record of 22 Grand Slam singles titles.
- A seventh title would break a tie with Chris Evert for most U.S. Open wins.
The U.S. Open begins Aug. 31 in Flushing Meadows, New York.

Nigeria vs The Classic Man
Nigeria has always been quick to align itself with success. Every time a new star is born and he is from Africa most especially Nigeria, people have been quick to "claim" them as one of there own. This was very evident on the case of British born Nigerian actor Chiwetel Ejiofor. After his much acclaimed role in major Hollywood productions , Nigerians where quick to remind every one that he is a Nigerian. Fast foward to 2015 which has been a breakthrough year for many stars of foreign nationalities but of Nigerian descent. This was very evident in the case of Jidenna Theodore Mobisson an American artiste of Igbo Nigerian heritage. After the BET awards, Nigerians all celebrated him while spelling it loud and clear that he was a son of the soil. That goodwill has recently vanished after a recent interview with vlad Tv when the artiste recounted he's experience when they travelled back home to bury their father. Jidenna the youngest of four children said that they hired trained commandos with Ak47 automatic rifles to guard against kidnapping which was quite rampant at the time. He went on to claim that the kidnappers targeted light skinned Nigerians more(What of Ramsey Noah, Amber Rose and Igwe Tupac) .He went on to say that he was from the Southeast region of Nigeria predominantly inhabited by the Igbo people. He made matters worst by saying that this region was away from the city (can you imagine this pickin? ??) and was in the bush. Nigeria already has so many problems especially with the radical sect of Boko Haram, dwindling economy and a floundering leadership who are confused and seem adept at playing the blame game (can't fail to mention the drama of the past few weeks that has taken place in the legislature). Jidenna should try and put he's country of descent in good light instead of trolling Nigeria as we already have enough negative press. On the other hand he was just accounting he's experience although he did not say it in the right way and Nigerians as we always do , overreacted . Please, let us forgive him after all he's still our own son.
